Ableton was founded in 1999 and is currently headquartered in Berlin with a second office in New York City and employs approximately 130 software developers, product specialists and business staff. The two original founders Gerhard Behles, CEO and Bernd Roggendorf, CTO still run the company along with COO, Jan Bohl. Most of Ableton’s employees are musicians and DJs working in music production and performance. Ableton makes software for creating, producing and performing music. The company’s flagship product, Ableton Live, has introduced a new approach to making music with computers on stage and in the studio that some call revolutionary. Live has received outstanding feedback from international press and artists from around the world. There are now several hundred thousand Live users worldwide with numbers on the rise.
