Aviom AN16/i Pair w/ 2 Aviom A-16D Pros, 8 A16II Mixers & 8 MT1 Mixer Mounts

The Aviom AN-16/i is a single space rackmount module serving as the A/D input stage of that company's personal monitoring audio network. The unit converts the 16 line level audio channels into compression-free, full bandwidth 24-bit digital data, for transmission conforming to Aviom's proprietary A-Net protocol, sent through a standard Category-5 computer network cable, virtually latency-free, at lengths of up to 500 ft, using the RJ45 A-Net Out and Expansion jacks located on the panel.

The AN-16/i features 16 1/4" rear panel TRS inputs, each with a separate front panel Stereo Link switch, 4-position Gain switch, Signal Present LED, and Clip LED indicators. There is an additional rear panel row of 16 1/4" TRS Thru jacks , which provided exact copies if the input channels, for insertion into an existing audio signal path. The 1/4" connectors accept unbalanced signals as well.

Up to 4 AN-16/i modules may be used, in support of the maximum 64 channels of audio, sending data to any combination of AN-series monitoring components, over a single Category-5 cable.

The Aviom A-16II is the remote personal headphone/line mixer component of that company's highly innovative Personal Monitor Mixing System, for studio, installation and live use.

An unlimited number of A-16II mixers may be connected, via standard Category 5 network cables, at distances of up to 500 ft. from the source, receiving up to 16 channels of audio from the A-16T system transmitter. The transmission protocol is called A-Net, a proprietary, high speed, Ethernet-based network technology, developed by Aviom as a means of moving audio without using data compression or introducing perceptible latency.

Each of the A-16II channels avails the user of true stereo mixing possibilities, with individual panning, tone, solo, mute and volume control. All parameters may be saved to one of the 16 user preset locations, with full Recall and Grouping. The mix is then passed through a 24-bit D/A converter to the 1/4" stereo phone output, driving headphones, in-ear monitors, floor wedges or spot monitors with a clean, intense output of up to +20 dBu. A wide variety of headphones, with impedances ranging from 30 to 600 Ohms, may be used.

Another break-through aspect of the A-16II, and Aviom products in general, is the pricing, which, considering the quality, flexibility and sophistication of the various system components, is amazingly reasonable. Made in the USA, by the way.

The A-16D, made by Aviom, is an 8-port audio and power distribution module, housed in a 1/2 space metal rack case, and made for use with that company's personal monitoring and mixing system.

The A-16D adheres to Aviom's proprietary A-Net protocol, an ethernet-based technology that delivers high-speed transmission of uncompressed, very low latency audio over distances of up to 500 ft., using a standard Category-5 computer network cable with RJ45 connectors.

The ingenious power distribution of the A-16D is designed so that the power supplies of up to 8 remote A-series mixers and other components may be connected to a set of rear panel connectors, sending DC power along with the audio through the single Category-5 cable, simultaneously, in parallel fashion. This enables an easier, faster and cleaner remote setup, eliminating the need for extra power strips and concerns over remote AC access.

The MT-1 is a bracket-type personal mixer mount for connection to microphone stands, made specifically for use with the Aviom A-16II and A-16CS Remote Personal Mixer and Control stations. The mount connects to the mic stand on it's bottom lip, with the supplied mounting hardware. The stations slide in easily at the bottom, secured by the "feet" to the custom cut slots on the mount, and attached with 3 screws.
