DIY Ondes Martenot MIDI Controller

Midi controllers are all the rage these days and for good reason.  They are relatively cheaper than stand-alone synthesizer or drum machines, and they are easily programmable using any compatible software and a computer.  They’ve come a long way since beginning, when modders would tear apart old keyboard to create their own workable renditions.  Controllers like the Native Instruments S4 represent the pinnacle of hardware and software integration on this level.

However, some folks prefer the journey rather than the destination.  A modder named Mitsushi Abe has been hard at work, crafting his own DIY midi controller using an Arduino controller, breadboard, wire clips, and a makeshift keyboard.  It goes to show you that the innovation doesn’t stop once manufacturers enter the game.
