Native Instrument’s Kontrol F1
Native Instrument’s Kontrol F1 looks very similar to their first attempt at an external midi controller, the Kontrol X1. The F1 is monumentally different from its predecessor; the layout is focused towards sample triggering rather knob effects. This is apparent when you take a look at the front of the unit and notice a 4×4 button layout, but only 4 twist knobs.
The other big change, that might not be obvious up front, is that the F1 is suited for use in Traktor’s Remix software. It seamlessly integrates into the software, allowing you to edit live tracks and create custom loops on the fly.
