DTS Play-Fi Wireless HD Audio Streaming Unveiled

Wireless receivers that transmit audio to different sources aren’t anything new.  Stage crews and live bands have been using transmitter and receiver combos like the Sennheiser XSW 72 for a while now, with more than ample results.  However, if you’re looking to transmit wireless audio throughout your home – this may be overkill.

Bluetooth has gotten us pretty far in this respect, allowing us to have 2 devices communicate with each other without any sort of tethering.  It however, will soon become history.  Apple and DTS have both been developing Play-Fi audio streaming solutions that can transmit audio over a wireless router.  Expect to see this technology implemented in mobile devices and tablets soon.
