Pioneer DDJ-SX hands on
The Pioneer DDJ-SX has gotten a lot of publicity lately, and rightly so. While nothing about the unit is completely innovative or fresh, the build quality and layout is something that only Pioneer could have manufactured. The “feeling” of the pads is completely sensitive on all areas, and set it apart from any off shelf controller like the Akai LPD8.
The jog wheels are where it really shines. Platter movement is smooth to the touch, with position indicators in the middle. The entire piece speaks quality and comes at a cost worthy of such a hit. The only thing left is to see how well Serato DJ interacts with this hardware.
