Arturia Intros Spark Dubstep
You could say the folks at Arturia have taken a well rounded approach to the synthesizer market. On one hand, they produce some stunning physical synthesizers which are moderately priced but look the “part” with classy touches that give it more charm than some of their competition. On the other hand, they have a small command over the software synthesizer market with brilliantly designed programs such as the Arturia Moog Modular V2.6, which lets you patch together a virtual modular synth (minus the thousands of dollars it would cost you to do it in real time).
Well, Arturia can’t say that they’ve been ignoring the trends out there. After all they’ve branded their new software with the word “dubstep” in it. Yes, Arturia Spark Dubstep is now out on shelves for a moderate cost and I’m guessing it does what it’s supposed to do. Most of the focus has gone towards creating the signature “wobble” that these dubstep hipsters tend to gravitate towards. They claim to have 30 different kits that can be used for dubstep, as well as other genres. 14 high quality effects are added and judging by the name of them (bit crusher, destroyer), it’s easy to guess what type of music it’s for.
