Multi-Touch Music Apps On Windows 8

If you’re going to be involved in creating music or DJing in the next ten years, I’d imagine you will see tablet devices being used in creative ways that was never thought to be possible.  Just look at the amount of developers out there, pouring their creative energy into iPad app – hoping to garner a decent fan base and steady income.  It’s actually more than just the software developers who are working hard to make tablet devices a practical solution for music production, you can’t forget about the hardware and operating system companies themselves who have the more difficult task of making sure the technology works just right.

So far, Apple apps have the edge on Android apps.  There are simply more iOS developers working to create functioning apps than there are on the Android side.  It also seems to be the case that the Apple guys have an inherent fondness of music creating apps that the other side seems to lack.  Windows is about to stake their claim in the tablet market with the introduction of Windows 8 and Windows RT.  So far, Windows 8 looks promising with more innovations built around multi-touch applications – which are said to lack some of the latency problems that plague “live performance” tablet users.
