Brookstone Big Blue Media Tower Preview

If we could put anything we wished into our living rooms, the best sound system would consist of two powered PA speakers mounted on tripods on either end of the room.  Disregarding surround sound for the moment, a pair of two way speakers would provide more than enough volume for any occasion, and there would never be an issue of speakers distorting before being loud enough to hear the music.  Using your fragile surround sound speakers for a party might land you in the opposite camp – where there simply isn’t enough power being pushed through the speakers.

Unfortunately, many of us have moved out of our bachelor caves, and the presence of two loudspeakers in the main room of the house may be something our significant other might not be too fond of.  For indoor purposes, something with less of a footprint and more class might be preferred.  If you aren’t shelling out for a technical 5.1 surround sound system, then a pair of tower speakers might be right up your alley.  Brookstone, whose cool gadgets usually cost a fortune, is offering their Big Blue Media Tower speakers at a humbling price of $400.  With its built in wireless receiver it should be technologically current for at least a year or so.  It’s pricey, but a good option for those who need to “grow up”.
