Korg NanoPad + Ableton Beat Repeat = KaossPad Looper

If you’re looking for some peripherals to add to your current DAW setup, the options are almost unlimited.  Well, not unlimited, but there’s an awful lot of products to choose from; many of them doing the same thing as another, and some of them combing specific function of more than one controller.  In a production environment, most of your effects will be triggered internally with the help of some clever midi or key mapping.  The problem is that these devices cannot do the same thing for a live performance without the help of a computer.  There are also effects units like the Kaoss Pad 3 that can affect live audio, but will do little to help you on the production end.

One bright producer has found a way to get the most bang out of your buck.  He uses the low priced Korg NanoPad along with Ableton to simulate everything that a Kaoss Pad 3 can do for a live performer.  If you’re one of those talented musicians that know how to incorporate Ableton into live performances, than this may be right up your alley.  Instead of need an external piece of equipment to control you effects, the same can be with a low priced controller.
