Vestax HMX-05 Headphones Announced

Vestax is not a brand that you would traditionally relate to headphones.  Be that as it may, it’s not unreasonable for them to try to reach out and start creating a line of headphones.  Technics happens to do that same, even though their expertise is more suited for turntables and mixers.  Over the years, we’ve seen Vestax expand their business horizontally – breaking into the field of controller solutions along with their updated line of digital mixers.  With the mixer marketing being the competitive beast that it is, making the choice to produce all-in-one controller solutions seems reasonable.

It’s hard to know how well they could do creating a pair of headphones.  Their HMX-05 headphones do not have an original design.  They look very similar to “Beats By Dre.” headphones minus the branded logos on the cup of each ear.  They use the same design which gives them the look of a one-piece unit that allows them to be folded for compact storage.  Drivers are pretty hefty at 40mm, and it’s clear that these are listening, rather than monitoring devices with the amount of bass that will be added.  One thing that is eye catching is the look of them.  The black and red scheme seems to have been pulled off with much more style than the Beats By Dre.
