New Patch Sharing Site, Synthmob.com

Whether you like it or not, sampling or finding beats and tracks to create with is getting easier and easier, thanks to cloud-type information banks and social media outlets that let you share and receive new bits of audio.  At the highest level of sharing there are already many outlets established that will let you pass on your own mixer to another.  Soundcloud and Mixcloud do this well by keeping posted tracks inclusive to all but also by adding elements of friends and acquaintances to keep a closer watch on.  If you travel down deeper you’ll find that it can be broken down into more basic elements.

Song pools like Beatport have been around since records pools were there doing the same thing for DJs who wanted vinyl records.  The ability to instantly choose from a selected group of songs made it easier to “shop”.  Now, remix artists and controllerists have the option of downloading only the loops or sections of a song they want to use to recreate their own version.  Loopport comes to mind, although it hasn’t been out long enough to gauge its success.  Finally, synthmob.com has just announced the opening of their website, where you can download instruments, patches, and audio plug-ins.
