Serato DJ 1.1.2 Adds Support

It is safe to say that there are many controllers out there for DJs on the second hand market.  With so many options to choose from it makes it easier to decide that one controller simply isn’t the right one for you, with another controller having a similar cost being your next best bet.  Another reason that a DJ may decide to put their Novation Twitch on sale, isn’t because it doesn’t have the functionality of a layout that they desire, it has to do with what type of DVS can be run with it.  When it comes to smaller DVS packages that don’t cost upwards of five hundred dollars, you are kind of limited as to what you can get.  So far, Serato and Traktor are offering scaled down versions of their software to run with these controllers, as not to compete with their flagship soundcards that are meant for standalone mixers and CDs or vinyl decks.

The higher end controllers like the DDJ-S1 have rightfully come bundled with “fuller” versions of their packaged DVS software, while the smaller ones usually are only given the intro versions.  Thankfully, Rane has announced that the full version of Serato DJ will be available for many of the controllers they once neglected, this spring.
