Toaster, An IOS DJ Splitter With A Difference

Apple made the wise decision to make their “own stuff” a long while ago.  By this I mean that their products seem to work best with Apple related gear and are not something found on other devices, which is the case with most PC gear.  Even the power cable that connects itself to the computer or charging station cannot be found in typical audio and power shops, unless they specifically carry Apple gear.  It is an obvious ploy to make more money off of their products, but it doesn’t stop others from trying to replicate their accessories and sell them at a lower price.

One of the biggest annoyances on this device, besides not having a USB port, is the fact that audio has to be severed, in a sense, in order to be used in a way that makes it acceptable to DJs.  DJs need to cue their music before they mix it, it is what defines the DJ as a DJ.  Splitters have always been available, but this one called the “Toaster” adds microphone capability in the process, which makes it a bit more special than the rest.  If only Apple would realize that their design is a bit flawed, they might take the necessary steps to change things around.
