Responding Positively To Bad Reviews With The Support Of Your Fans
A DJ who packs his gear up and readies himself to perform live knows that he cannot please every member of the audience. Those members are not there to see him or her specifically, they are there to hear music, and they are there to be entertained. It is a sad fact that the DJ simply cannot play to everyone in the crowd. They may choose to play to the majority or maybe even the smaller majority. But no matter how good he is or how skilled he is, there will always be someone who is not pleased with their work. This may come as a shock to new DJs who assume that everyone will love them. It can be a hard line of work to be in if you can’t handle criticism.
Instead of simply blowing off the displeased or the haters, an artist (DJ) can better serve themselves by embracing those who aren’t satisfied. Yes that’s right. Pay attention to your harshest critics and at least acknowledge the fact that they don’t like your music. By simply listening to the negativity, you make it known that you actually care about what your fans think. You may have to swallow your pride on this one, but it will pay off.
