Traktor Kontrol S4 — new one in the wings?

I have to say, people who buy an item at full price brand new, have made that conscious choice themselves – so they shouldn’t be terribly mad when the price gets dropped during the release of a new model.  The same can be said about those who buy used gear at low prices; if it craps out on them then they should be asking why.  They took the steep discount without ever questioning why it was cheap to begin with.  As always, it’s a buyer beware market and they should do their best to protect themselves from getting burned in the end.  Native Instruments has been on a role lately, slashing the prices on a lot of their gear.

They have done this under the guise that they are making room for new models and new revisions.  While I believe this to be true, I also believe that they have had this plan all along.  When a new model is released, the older models sometimes get resold on the second hand market.  So instead of letting the gear pass through hands again, they have given incentive for buyers to run back to their company, rather than Craigslist.  Everyone is happy in the end, except for the ones who bought it first.
