As Mac Pro Debates Rage On, Time for Some Reality Checks
The new details about the upcoming Mac Pro has caused just as much concern as it has interest. Nobody is really quite certain what to expect or how expensive the machine will be when it is done, but can all be sure of the end of the traditional desktop system, at least by Apple. Like all things Apple, the design of the new Mac Pro is appealing to the eyes, but not appealing to the wallet or the conscious. They have supposedly done away with added ports and the ability to add and remove cards as you please. So you are basically buying an extra large and extra fast tablet with no means of adding connectivity that doesn’t already exist.
Will people eventually adjust to this new style of desktop? My guess is yes. It won’t be the greatest deal for anybody and the price tag will surely attract some and push others away. Perhaps it might just be portable enough for a musician to bring around with them when they perform – but at the estimated high cost you would be crazy to risk dropping it. Apple will likely continue to do things there way, and will eventually force others to follow suit if they want to remain fanatics.
