DIY MIDI-Controlled Flame-Thrower Organ!
What did you do on the 4th of July? Depending on where you live, you either spent the night in complete silence, or you spent the night in a war zone with firecrackers and mini bombs being shot off in every direction. It’s strange how some cities completely ban the use of fireworks, while other cities allow them to go off until the wee hours of the morning. You have the kinds that are completely legal to use, and then you have those that are closer to a weapon than a firework. The kinds that shoot off into the air and explode later are generally illegal, but we see them anyways.
It sort of speaks to the idea that July 4th represents a day of independence and freedom. Remember that dubstep Christmas light show that synced up Christmas lights to a dubstep album? The same idea has been remade to sync with the 4th of July fireworks show, except it is not really fireworks at all. Instead, flaming organs are use that release flames when the music piece is performed. It was achieved using so handy solenoid valves as well as a bit of programming to make it all possible on the ground.
