Behringer CMD Micro DJ Controller
When it comes to choosing the proper controller to augment your DVS setup, your options are many – but there are some simple steps you can take to help you narrow your search down. First thing you want to ask yourself is, “Do I want to have full control over my DVS system without touching my computer?” If you answered yes to this, then you’ll want a control that has line and crossfade options, as well as some way to progress through each track (usually a jogwheel). Just because you want to have it all in a single controller does not mean that the controller needs to be fairly large either.
There are actually smaller micro controller systems that are meant for such a purpose, and these controllers are no longer than fraternity’s pledge paddle. Of course, when you go small you are going to have to give up things like a full band EQ or even a meager supply of cue point buttons – but the size of the unit should speak for itself. The Behringer CMD line has added the Micro to their collection, and it is pretty cute (for lack of better words). With a horizontal layout, it is mean to sit near the laptop’s edge.
