20 Feet From Stardom and Welcome To The Machine

A new movie is about to be released entitled, “Twenty Feet From Stardom” and I think the name should ring bells for anybody who has ever considered joining the music industry in hope of becoming successful.  As the name suggests, becoming a well known music or video artist these days is not as hard as it may seem (although it is not easy).  Even the most well known and successful artists still have their trials and tribulations which make it hard for them to maintain such a success.  Hearing about success from a relatively new artist is only one thing – but hearing about it from one who has been at it for decades is quite another.

This short documentary interviews all sort of artists, including Cypress Hill, Bruce Springsteen, and Stevie Wonder.  As you can tell by the artists involved, this is not small motion picture.  There has been some obvious consideration into the making of this film and its projected value once it is complete.  The film goes over some themes of the music business and also covers what is known as the “twelve commandments” of the music industry.  I’m sure there are other unspoken rules that will be glossed over.
