How Can I Diversify My Music Collection?

The problem of having too much is just as bad as not having enough.  In any sort of scenario it is easy to see why.  A hungry person who hasn’t had anything to eat might eat themselves to death if they were placed in the middle of an abandoned buffet line.  A person who has a thousand channels on their TV will never be satisfied since they feel like there is always something better to watch (that they might be missing).  I can’t even pick out 1 toothbrush at the store without feeling like I have made the wrong choice.  Having too much is a problem here.  Is there such a thing as too much music to sort through?  I believe so.

Back when I only own a few albums, I listened to each one carefully.   I knew the songs that nobody wanted to listen to – but it also help me realize just how expansive my favorite artist was.  They went beyond popularity and into their own zone.  Having too much music to choose from prevents you from really exploring the deepness of an artist, and you may only ever know their superficial self that is fed to us on a daily basis.
