The Can You Dig It? Remix Contest
Attention Producers…break out the MPCs!! Coalmine Records joins forces with the online pro audio giant UniqueSquared.com to present you with the Can You Dig It? Remix Contest. In what Coalmine considers to be most dynamic remix contest to date, they have combined El Da Sensei’s Global Takeover 2 (GT2) album campaign with the promotion of their five year anniversary compilation, Can You Dig It? Producers are required to remix “Everyday In The Street” featuring Sean Price & Bekay off the GT2 LP, using “The Warriors Theme Song” as the sample. The winning producer will have their remix featured on El Da Sensei’s forthcoming “The Nu World Remix EP” and will receive a generous prize package that will include gear and promotional goods, courtesy of UniqueSquared.com. Get started now by downloading the audio files and rules/itinerary document below. If any producers experience any difficulty in downloading or unzipping the files, please send an email to coalminerecords [@] gmail.com and they will attempt to resolve your issue. All remixes are due no later than Monday, May 16th.
Attention producers, please email all submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Monday, May 16th. Only one submission per producer will be accepted. The files for the remix contest include an MP3 file of the original version of “Everyday In The Street” (featuring Sean Price & Bekay) & WAV files of the acapella, both with and without the scratch chorus, in addition to a separate file of just the scratch chorus, in the event that you would like to adjust the cuts without affecting the arrangement of the vocals. All acapella files are zero pointed and should synchronize properly with any digital audio workstation. You will also find an MP3 file for the theme song to the movie The Warriors, which will be the sample that will be required for you to flip for your remix submission. *Please note that it is mandatory for you to use the sample or your submission will not be accepted. You are entitled to use any part of the sample using your own creative autonomy, but it must be used as part of the musical composition and not limited to being used solely for an intro, outro or sound effect. Music should be in an MP3 format and should default to any iTunes media player. The original version of “Everyday In The Street” is 86 Beats Per Minute and the theme song to “The Warriors” is 120 Beats Per Minute. You may alter the BPM of the sample to adjust to your remix, which may also be altered from the BPM of the original version of the song. Files should be labeled accordingly with song title first, followed by the producer’s name and remix in parenthesis, ie: I Am (Joe Smith Remix).mp3. *Due to the high volume of submissions, it becomes very difficult to cross reference submissions with their corresponding email addresses and therefore it is critical to include your email address in the comment field of the iTunes info panel. In your email, please provide us with your social network URLs (Twitter/Facebook) along with your discography bio/epk if applicable. Please include a few sentences about yourself and your production background. Good luck!
If you are having any difficulties downloading the files, do not hesitate to contact email@example.com where we will help resolve the issue.
