Hot Cues, Loops, and Effects

Rather than an EQ kill section on the MIXTRACK we reviewed last month, this has a Hot Cue, Loops and Effects section that allows you to map cue points in your mix and add effects. The loop section also features an automatic loop feature to set up quick loops in preset measures.

Responsive Turntables

The turntables on the MIXTRACK PRO are extremely sensitive and allow you to scratch and nudge. By turning off the scratch feature, this allows you to use the entire plate to nudge. These are responsive turntables and allow you to really get into what you are doing.

Virtual DJ LE

This is a new software that comes with the MIXTRACK PRO. It works really well with this controller and maximizes the new features of the MIXTRACK PRO. This does not limit you to only this software as it is compatible with virtually all DJ software.

Built in audio interface

This is a big upgrade to the MIXTRACK because now you don’t need to purchase an additional audio interface. The MIXTRACK PRO is virtually plug and play and even features a microphone input with it’s own volume control.

How you doing, this is Scott Magno DJ MadFlip here with UniqueSquared.com to show you the new, Numark Mixtrack Pro. You may be familiar with the Mixtrack, we had that product, very successful product. This is going to be awesome because originally with the Mixtrack you had to have some sort of audio device to get it situated but now with the Mixtrack Pro you don’t need that anymore. All you need is a laptop with some music and you’ll be ready to go.

We’ve got two master outputs here for audio. You’ve actually got a headphone output so you can actually monitor direct from turntable to turntable, and you also have a microphone input with its own separate volume knob.

Pretty much the same layout. This is going to come bundled with virtual DJ, I’m very excited about that. I’m actually not very familiar with that software, but I’m going to tell you that it is very, very, easy to use.

Just from the layout alone, it is very symbiotic to the controller itself, I dig that. Plus it’s got a whole bunch of effects that weren’t available with some of the other softwares out there. Makes it really easy to get in the mix, which is where we are now. So, I’m going to show you a couple of things that happen differently with this that I really, really, dig.

First of all we’ve got this track going on, I can really get my hot cues in here and set that, and that’s really cool. I actually like to do my loops in two different ways. I like to have it in auto mode where I can select 2,4,8, and 16 measures and just be in and out just with the touch of a button.

So, I’m going to go ahead a mix something in and show you some of the things. I actually use the browse feature to select my second track. I actually like this track I think it’s a good place to mix so I’ll go loop out, or loop in. Now I’m selecting this track, wait, make that a longer loop.

Now I’ve got this mixing, I can cue it up using my headphones now that I’ve got that ability. Speed up. I’m using my pitch bend to get it right about perfect on there. But you know, I can actually sync it to get right on. Because I want to be perfect in my mix. See I’ve got the bass, mid, treble on here to get my track perfect. Before, it was different with the Mixtrack, you actually had the kills up here but I like that I’ve got the cues in.

I’m going to use one of my break effects on the out here, this is actually a backspin, let’s try it and see how that sounds. Pretty cool, takes it right back into the mix too, I did not lose my mix there. Mixtrack Pro very simple to use. I think I’m very impressed with this. This controller has every feature that I need for my performances on stage. It has, you know, good mixer, good responding turntables. Scratch there too, there it is.

It takes a little getting used to but honestly, pretty good. I can actually sync that up real quick. I’ll show you all just how quickly that can happen. Right there, It’s that simple.
