Google Play Music All Access

I can honestly say that the iPhone and the iOS have a few edges over a stock Android phone, especially a phone like the Galaxy S3.  Setting up the iPhone is remarkably simple since you aren’t given too many customization options to muddle up, and there aren’t as many annoying bloated apps to get rid of either.  The worst offender on a stock iPhone is probably the Newstand Icon, which many do not use and find annoying.  But compared to what you need to do to a S3, I understand why many feel that the iOS and Apple products are more user friendly.

Apple has recently launched their own streaming music service to compete with the best of them out there (Pandora, Spotify, etc.), and if my guess is correct it will be extremely easy to use.  This is the key to all Apple products and what makes them so …

Samsung Shows Off New Tablets

If you are like me and have a decent laptop and decent computer – you may have a hard time justifying the purchase of a new tablet.  The tablet sits comfortable in between the two computing devices, and because of that, we don’t see it replacing one or the other.  Also, if your laptop is kind of old (as mine is), then you would probably consider a laptop before ever considering buying a tablet that doesn’t come with a keyboard, mouse, or any type of USB connection on the front of it.  Tablet and computer makers understand that many of us have this problem.  They want our money and they want to do so by simplifying the decision making process.

When you bundle a keyboard and USB connections with a tablet, you make it harder to pass up.  If you create a display that is ahead of its time, and …

Summer Oxford Shirt Has Hidden Cleaning Cloth for Phones

Is there a point where fashion and technology can actually meet without crossing the boundary of being something utterly ridiculous?  What happens to often in almost any industry is that there is too much focus on the look of something at the expense of how it actually performs.  On the other side there are brilliantly executed pieces of gear that don’t exactly make you want to take a second look at them.  The trouble is finding a spot where the two can meet and both designers and engineers can be happy.  Often time, the design is weight to one side.

A good example is these summer Oxford shirts that double over as a cleaning cloth for your mobile devices, cell phones, and tablet.  We all have the problem of trapping too much grease on our screen protectors – but do we need to buy a fancy shirt just to get …

Kirk Degiorgio’s studio

So what is the difference between a nu-school and an old-school producer?  Perhaps the amount of grey hair they have on their head?  It would really be hard to distinguish one from the other without knowing something about them.  I will say this – modern producers often have the luxury of being able to work with modern gear, but as a consequence they lack some of the older techniques that had to be used when gear wasn’t up to par.  This is a common phenomenon with scratchers and DJs.  You can tell by what techniques they use, just how long they have been performing in the business.

A modern producer is likely to have a slew of keyboard synthesizers, a few drum pads and drum machines, and of course, a computer to wire it all together.  An older producer may have some gear that a modern producer would see as …

Machine Love: Laurel Halo

Male DJs tend to dominate the scene and there is no question about that.  I could easily say that 80% of the working DJs at night clubs around you are men, and the other 20% of women who are DJing are hidden from view or in a place where we can’t see them.  Females are even rarer to see as producers, since we never get to see a producer’s face until they have made it to a level where someone actually cares about them.  What this means is that only the top producers who are performing get any of the face time with the general public, and out of those, only a handful are women.  What I can say about female producers is that their studios are just as messy as their male producers.

If you check out this women’s production area, you wouldn’t be able to tell that it …
