HOW JUST BLAZE VERY NEARLY BECAME A PROGRAMMER

All music can actually be defined on paper without the use of scales and meter.  In fact, a simple tone like an A note on the piano, can be written mathematically and reproduced many times.  The struggle with early electronic music was to find way to control sound without having to break it down to the simplest of axioms.  Programs like Ableton can tackle complex tasks, and when a single song is produced – it requires a lengthy amount of legwork to be done (which is eventually translated into 1’s and 0’s for the computer to read).  Early music making in digital devices had to be done using numbers, rather than symbols.

Think of the early pagers and cellular phones that did not have the ability to record and playback music.  These would still play simple 16-bit melodies – but actually creating them required sort of a programming background as …

LISTEN TO JAMES LAVELLE’S MO’ WAX KICKSTARTER MIX

Memorabilia is something that people do not need, but will buy if the time is right.  It is like going to a Dodger’s game and buying a hat at their super expensive Dodger store.  You don’t need it – but you want it because it is there.  When George Lucas created his Star Wars series, he gave the rights to the movie ticket sales to his producers and production team – but he was allowed to take all of the profits from the memorabilia.  Who knew that the demand for such products would create an empire?

With music, the same deal also works, where someone is willing to pay a high dollar amount for something they don’t necessarily need.  Record labels and accomplished musicians will sometimes release a special edition copy of old music in a collector’s box.  People buy this stuff because they care about how they feel when …

Is Android about to lose the exclusive on a top-ranked keyboard to iOS?

No matter how powerful you are as a celebrity or public figure, you cannot escape the grasp of the law.  Well, that isn’t entirely true – since some can afford to make bail and pay off a good lawyer or two, but you will still be handcuffed and sent to the cell before it is all said and done.  It is probably worse that you are a celebrity who is trying to enjoy a normal life.  The second you get cuffed and arrested, you are crammed in a cell and the news of your arrest spreads quickly.  I suppose it is common that music artists are constantly being arrested for silly charges, since they are the ones who are painted with the picture of being drug users and alcohol abusers.

Ironically, it does tend to give them a bit of press that they would not have gotten before.  People might …

Four Of Five Americans with Phones Don’t Use Them for Getting Music Yet

It is safe to say that the iPod was really the key to making a successful smart phone.  Before the iPod existed, we had multiple methods and steps to take if we wanted to use an mp3 player, a telephone, and a camera – but it was the iPod that proved that it could be done in such a compact and futuristic looking design.  While streaming media and streaming music is blasting off right now – there are still those who think it is too much effort to get that music on their smartphones.  I can already see many of the reasons why it is such a hassle to use music on a mobile device.

For one, an inexperienced and novice smartphone user does not have the time to learn about a product, they just want to use it.  This is perhaps why the iPhone does so well with the …

Where To Put Music You’ve Been Meaning to Check Out

Music providers and streaming service companies have one general problem that they need to iron out before they can truly become a kingpin in the industry.  That problem is versatility.  I’m not talking about having many options when using a particular service – I’m talking about the ability to use inter-service apps that will allow you to have two apps communicate with each other.  Obviously it doesn’t make sense from a business standpoint to have an app that plays nice with another.  You want yours to be the best.  However, independent developers are smart enough to figure out ways to get them to talk to each other behind their backs.

The key here is being able to share information.  When you have files and settings saved in Pandora, you cannot export them to Spotify.  The same goes with Spotify, who is Pandora’s biggest competitor.  Listeners are tired of having their …
