Mackie Onyx Blackjack First Look

The wait is finally over. Here is the Mackie Blackjack first look and short review from Unique Squared. It is a 2X2 recording interface that is great for home studios and musicians on the go. Don’t let the size fool you. It has Mackie’s world renown Oynx Mic Preamps, zero latency digital recording, and a sleek, ergonomic, well constructed design.  It’s really great how Mackie has spent some time thinking about the musician on a budget or someone just needing something portable this time.

Mackie Says:

“Let’s face it. If you could fit one of our flagship Onyx 1640i consoles into your workspace and budget, you probably would do it. But that shouldn’t mean you have to settle for the cheapest, plastic 2×2 interface available. We’ve spent serious time and research creating the Onyx Blackjack Premium USB Recording Interface. It delivers the same proven Onyx preamps as our other flagship Onyx products in an ultra-compact, ergonomic desktop design perfect for your home studio. Other professional features include high-end AD/DA converters, built-in DIs, phantom power and true analog hardware monitoring of inputs for hassle-free zero-latency tracking, in either mono or stereo. The USB connection provides bus-power to the Blackjack, eliminating the need for another cable run. Plus, it’s Mac/PC friendly and ready for most major DAWs right out of the box. So, don’t settle. Be smart and check out the Onyx Blackjack – the utmost in sonic quality and simplicity.”

Hey guys, how you doing? Good to see you again, this is Scott Magno aka DJ MadFlip with Uniquesquared to show you another cool product. This time this is coming from Mackie, the Onyx BlackJack recording interface. Alright so let’s talk about the BlackJack. First of all from Mackie, long known for their Onyx mic pre’s, they’re going to be in this device here we’ve got two of them. Right here it’s going to be XLR or line combination inputs, phantom powered on these as well. They also have dual colored LEDs which are going to give you a green when you’re ready to rock or a red when you start to peak there. Alright we also have this true analog zero latency monitoring system so you can select this with zero latency, mono or stereo, and send a signal to your headphones or you monitor, mono or stereo for that. What I like the most about this is going to be it’s twenty five degree angle right here. This is going to allow for the operator to have clear vision of this and for the cables on the back to not get too jumbled. This also has awesome full metal full steel construction here.
Alright so the BlackJack is going to come with USB 1.1 so it’s going to be bus powered, so this is going to come bundled with a USB cable. It’s also going to come with Traction 3 software. Now the BlackJack is going to be compatible with almost every other recording software out there; Logic, Q Base, Ableton, what have you. So it makes it a really versatile product. Mackie BlackJack, this is legit.
Alright so there it is the Mackie BlackJack, two by two recording interface. So thanks to Mackie for allowing us,, to be one of the first dealers globally to have this product so we can show it to you guys.
