Shazam Partners With Beatport

When we were kids and the radio was the only way to hear a new song that has just been released, it was next to impossible to know the name of a new song unless the radio DJ announced it.  I remember hearing the same song on the radio 3 or 4 different times in one day, but I was never clear who actually created the song.  It’s a wonder, to me, how any records or CDs were even sold at all – we couldn’t figure out the artists’ name half of the time.  Once music began to be digitized in a format that could be downloaded, it became quite clear who the author of a song was.

For those that still use this backwards approach to identifying a song’s name and artist, there are tools available to us today that make this task much simpler.  Shazam got its start …
