Beats Studio and Beats Tour Headphones Review

Beats Electronics has been a pretty busy company. With the announcement that their new music streaming service will become available in January, many of us are wondering how this service will compete alongside the more established streaming behemoths including Spotify and Pandora. The Beats music streaming service, dubbed Beats Music, is the brainchild of Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre, Trent Reznor, and several others with nearly two years of development behind it.

With that in mind, Beats Electronics are still making very popular headphones, speakers, and accessories for music lovers on the go. For that reason, we decided to test out their two flagship headphone and earphone products to see how they compare to the competition. We tried out the Beats Studio headphones as well as the Beats Tour earphones so that you can decide if these headphones are right for you.

Wicked Audio On-Ear Headphones Review

Are headphones cheap to produce?   I have always wondered this one but have never actually found out any answers I could use.  It seems like every electronic company is willing to make a pair of headphones, even if that is not their specialty.  I guess any company that specializes in making speakers also has the tools to make headphones and microphones in the process right?  Naturally, we have our old standby headphone makers who have been doing it longer than anyone else (Sennheiser comes to mind) – but then we have these new guys to the game who have literally no experience making these, thinking that they will sell.

I don’t mind a new product or new guy to the game, but I do get tired of companies trying to make money off of someone else’s design.  The Beat By Dre. design has been iterated by many manufacturers out there, …

AKG Tiesto Headphones

When a product is born and sent to production, there is a point where it doesn’t really matter how good it is or how good of a value it is.  Unless the word goes around and professionals begin adapting to this new gear, there is not going to be a loyal consumer following.  This is one sad fact and it is akin to the “who you know” philosophy.  Some of the greatest products out there may never be heard of or know – simply because it remains unknown to the market.  It isn’t until someone big or some celebrity uses the products that the rest of the word will begin to accept them.

Manufacturers are well aware of this phenomenon, if it can even be called that.  Before a product ever hits the shelves there needs to be notoriety for it.  This is why leaks of photos and celebrity endorsements …

Onkyo ES-HF300 and ES-FC300 Headphones

There are enough pairs of headphone cans out there that you shouldn’t have a problem finding a pair that suits your “style”, but the vast amount of gear companies trying to grab a corner of the market will inevitably lead to a few not-so stunning revelations.  One thing we should all recognize about headphones is that looks and style count for a lot.  Nobody other than the listener is going to hear the quality of the music; meanwhile every observer will get a chance to see what they look like on the outside.  Depending on the ego of the headphone user, they may not even care about how they perform, merely how they look.

Pioneer headphones like the HDJ-1000’s have a look that is bound to be copied.  The same can be said about Monster’s Beats By Dre headphones.  We can expect to see lookalikes be produced by both …

iHome iB85 Bluetooth Wireless Foldable Headphones Preview

While headphones come in different shapes and sizes to suit our various needs, there are some designs that garner more attention than others.  Headphones have long since evolved from what they started out as; earbuds with soft pads that covered the ear (rather than sitting inside of them), and a flimsy headband to connect them together.  In order to increase the quality of the sound and the durability of the entire unit, material needed to be added to make each individual part larger, increasing the overall size in the process.  Headphones nowadays can be extremely heavy and bulky, but it is the cost you pay for when you want something that will last.

Monster’s Beats By Dre have been met with popularity because of their sleek design that comes along with the type of sound that it provides.  Although they are relatively large and weight more than others, they were …
