Is the DJ world beginning to ignore those who love hip-hop in favor of electronic music? It seems like many of the innovations that have been created by gear companies like Native Instrument have been catering to button mashers and production artists, rather than bread and butter DJs who spin off of controlled vinyl. Could it be that hip-hop, which evolved from the idea of sampling funk, as moved passed the idea of sampling analog sounds in favor of digitally produced sounds? It’s hard to nail it down, but it is safe to say that hip-hop music now involves more than just sampled records.
