You Can’t Buy Fans (So Why Do Musicians Keep Trying?)

Everybody has at least a few good ideas in their lifetimes, but few of them will actually commit to take the first step to get going.  It is easy to imagine a business after it is up and running for a few years – but much harder to see the very first step that will get them going.  It is that initial risk that people worry about; the few months when nobody knows of your name or your business.  In the music world this is extra scary.  Imagine spending money on making an album, only to have zero publicity when it is sent to market.
