Line 6 Stagescape M20d – First Look at NAMM

Ok, we just had our first look at Line 6′s new stage monitoring/ FOH all in one solution. The new M20d 20 input smart mixing system for live sound is one of those products that, on first look, produces a bit of head scratching. After few minutes though, you realize this might be one of the coolest things ever. I hung out for a quick demo of the system and have to admit I was pretty impressed. The device is incredibly minimalist in design; with 7 buttons on the top panel, one big dial and 12 rotary encoders. The rotary encoders themselves are not labeled. Given current tech trends, you have probably guessed that that giant screen in the center is a touchscreen interface and that these dials are multi function depending what devices you have selected. Winter NAMM Show 2012 and SLAM Studios

Every year all of the professional audio manufacturers get together in Anaheim and showcase their latest products. Some are things you have been drooling over for months and some have yet to be announced. We here at UniqueSquared want to give you all of the latest information on these products so we are headed out to California from January 19th-22nd to cover the NAMM Show 2012 live.

Pro Tools 10 Announced: First Look

So, in a surprise move, AVID have managed to jump ahead of other things in the queue and made themselves the subject of my first real post for the UniqueSquared blog. How did they do this? By dropping Pro Tools version 10, seemingly hot on the heels of last year’s release of version 9. From what I’m looking at, it appears November is AVID’s decided month of choice for dropping upgrades . I’m only looking at the release information we’ve been given, so I’ll tell you what I know so far.

Price

It appears the standalone purchase price of Pro Tools is going up to $699 from the current $599. Well, that’s the standard price, as opposed to our current price. That said, it looks as though you can save money on Pro Tools 10 by picking up a copy of Pro Tools 9. You’ll definitely want to get …

Zoom, the industry leader in portable digital recorders, has just unveiled their latest foray into the portable recording market, the Zoom H2n Handy Recorder. It features their latest microphone technology with five mic capsules on-board. Five mic capsules?!? There are definitely some noticeable improvements to the microphone technology on this bad boy.
