JBL Hearing the Truth: History

We showed you guys a trailer last month for our JBL Hearing the Truth series. This is our first part in the series appropriately titled “History.” JBL Professional veteran Mark Gander walks us through the legacy of founder James B. Lansing’s historic trek as the iconic designer and manufacturer for loudspeaker systems across nearly every media industry around the world. Mark also discusses the evolution of loudspeaker design from the early 1900s all the way to today’s professional loudspeaker technology. This is a great introduction for anyone looking to take a peek inside not just JBL, but how speaker technology was developed and implement throughout the last 100 years.

Check out the video above and feel free to post your questions and comments below.

JBL: Hearing the Truth Trailer

Recently, we traveled to the Harman International headquarters in California to take a tour of the JBL research and development facilities as well as their manufacturing plant in Mexico. We interviewed engineers, marketing executives, tour sound administrators, factory floor managers, and many others within the JBL family. What we got, in addition to that story, was a story of a company that is 65 years in the making and still leading the charge in loudspeaker evolution.

JBL has continually been synonymous with quality, and that’s because they have been instrumental in developing the speaker technology that has helped the film and music industry for decades. Working closely with content creators and innovators, JBL has …
