Laptop stands aren’t anything mind-blowing or exciting to talk about, since all they do is sit there and hopefully do their job. Just a couple of years ago, these stands really came in two flavors. There was one that worked well, and one that barely got the job done. Crane was, without a doubt, the king of the laptop stand, and owning a Crane stand meant that you were serious about your gear. If you really think about it, the laptop stand is the last line of defense before your laptop falls and suffers a serious concussion. Today, there are other choices which have been developed from earlier failures.
Laptop stands have a significant problem that is undeniable. They are lightweight, but they have to hold weight near the top of the stand. It’s like having a 20 pound head and 1 pound feet. The wobble is something that is …

There is a small market for laptop stands, but that market isn’t getting any larger. It is not something that needs to be bought over and over, and once a DJ finds what he likes, there isn’t a reason to go out and buy a new one. It’s not the same as a mixer or digital deck, where a DJ afford to buy something he likes and maybe trade up in the future when it is time to move to the next level. A stand is something you only want to buy once. It should work the first time and then you won’t have to deal with ever again, assuming it doesn’t fail.

Those who are on a budget, which is most of us, will try to find a medium between using a fold up table and buying a custom made wood rack with inserts for your decks.
Although we can get away with a cheap fold up table, and even put up with some of its problems (like wobbly table legs), many of us will have a hard time finding ways to mount a laptop or tablet without buying the proper accessories. Simply resting your tablet on top …

There are DJs out there who have to save money for a very long time in order to purchase just one part of their DJ setup. These are the types of people who don’t mind if the item is used or is showing signs of aging from their previous owner. For DJs who aren’t rich and don’t have DJ jobs that pay for all of their equipment, simply acquiring the gear may be the hardest part. After we finally have everything we need to get us going, the hardware on which we place it, is the least important piece of the puzzle.
Why spend a thousand dollars on a piece of furniture that holds the entire setup in the air – when any old table with four legs will do? Besides having a table, at most, we will need some sort of laptop stand to elevate off the table and …
