NAMM 2014 | Elektron Analog Rytm Demo

Just showing off the features on the Elektron Analog Rytm is clearly not enough. We wanted to hear how this thing sounded and we are pretty sure you do too. To quell your insatiable appetite for all things Elektron, we shot a quick demo video with Cenk from Elektron Music Machines at Winter NAMM 2014. Elektron should have more demo sounds in the near future but hopefully this will tide you over until then. Be sure to check out our overview of the Elektron Analog Rytm from NAMM 2014 in case you missed it and keep looking out for more videos from the show floor in the coming days.

NAMM 2014 | Elektron Analog Rytm

Elektron’s PR campaign is something to admire. They were fantastic at teasing the Analog Keys but their latest analog music machine has been teased since the launch of Analog Keys in Berlin. After being hidden behind a hazy lock box for months we finally caught a glimpse of their brand new machine the Analog Rytm. This drum machine centric device has all of the control functionality that you have come to be familiar with on other Elektron machines like the Analog 4 and Octatrack but with an emphasis on fully analog groove production. All of the I/O is similar to other machines in the line with USB, MIDI, and stereo outputs for all of your tracks.

The FX control is superb with reverb and delay control but also the inclusion of  distortion control which gives you control for very angry sounds. With master distortion and master compression control and the …

BPM 2013: Confirmed exhibitors so far

There are no shortages of trade shows to be had in this world, and a trade show is something that everybody can look forward to.  You can either experience the trade show as a guest, where you get to demo and gander at new gear like a kid in a candy store.  If not, you can always live through a person who is at the show, when they post their review videos online after the day is done.  For a vendor, trade shows are a chance to basically give presence – and even though you are stocking other people’s products, it helps to have your name and their name in the same room at the same time.

Over here in the States we have trade shows like NAMM, where they are focused on music and music technology as a whole, rather than just specific instruments.  While DJing is always a …

Gearfest 2013

I’ve heard people make the argument that music is better over in Europe.  Perhaps this is true.  In the United States, dance music isn’t really played over the radio (unless you consider pop songs to be dance music), and if you want to hear it, you’ll have to find the proper club and the right DJ.  Of course, here in the States we make up for our lack of music culture in many other ways – like trade shows.  Yes, the UKers and guys across the pond may have the BPM trade show once a year, but we have many different types of conventions and trade shows to attend.

NAMM is typically the biggest trade show and the most exclusive out of the bunch, but there are other shows marketed at a wider range of audiences, not just the big vendors and local talent.  Even vendors themselves will plop down …
