The king has arrived. The unveiling of the Rane 62 was one of the most heralded announcements at this year’s Winter NAMM show in Anaheim. Their booth was one of the most popular with many enthusiasts, all-star DJs, and industry people alike gathered in awe of its majesty. We got a sneak peak at the show and captured our first look here. It was apparent that this new mixer was going to be hot especially with Z-Trip having a hand in its development. When we finally had a chance to see it in action, we knew that Rane had gotten it right. In my opinion this represents a second renaissance for Rane and Serato Scratch Live users. How did you get started playing and producing music?
I feel like djing was a natural progression for me, as I started playing the Bassoon in 6th grade and began to excel after my mother put me in private lessons. After getting a full music performance scholarship concentrated in Bassoon to Ga State, I met a dance crew in my sophomore year…began to dance and never looked back. After 5 years of dancing, I was playing vinyl records in my now boyfriends apartment, and started to think I had possibly found my niche. I practiced on vinyl until I went down to Scratch Academy in Miami and learned Serato, scratching, and more beat matching skills. I got my first gig in January 2010 at Halo and opened there every Friday for several months. By November 2010, I booked my first gig overseas in Berlin, Germany.

At Unique Squared, we like to do things our way, with a Unique Twist. This includes decking out gear to fit our style. We paired up with StyleFlip to create some custom Rane TTM57SL, and TTM56.
