Artifacts – Turn It Out (prod. by King I Divine)

Artifacts – Turn It Out (prod. by King I Divine)

Following up last week’s massively well-received release, The Quality Control x Unique Squared Official SXSW Mixtape has some more in store for all the Hip hop aficionados. When you get Hip hop’s last action hero, El Da Sensei to combine once again with his partner in crime, the syllable strangler Tame One – you get an atom bomb known as Artifacts. The Artifacts were one of the true highlights of The Official SXSW Showcase at this years’ South by Southwest Festival and are now one of the highlights of the mixtape as well with their song, ‘Turn It Out’. Tame and El both take well executed swings at a track provided by up-and-comer King I Divine. This beat thumps and muscles its way along, commanding attention and setting the stage for true legends to, well, turn it …

Ro Spit – All Alone (prod. by Apollo Brown)

Quality Control and Unique Squared are back with another single off of the upcoming ‘Quality Control x Unique Squared Official SXSW Mixtape’. This mixtape was a culmination of 3 straight days of non-stop beat listening, rhyme writing, and recording on board a 45 foot tour bus which was converted into a state-of-the-art mobile recording studio and was a focal point for artists to convene as a creative outlet to record music in between their incessant schedule of performing from one venue to another.

The track, ‘All Alone’ which premiered exclusively on 2DopeBoyz, is by Detroit’s own up-and-coming producer Apollo Brown, and fellow Detroit stalwart Ro Spit. The song is a head nodder of a track with cuts and scratches provided by none other than Scribble Jam DJ Battle 3-peat champion, DJ Presyce and mixed by the Mobile Studio’s chief engineer, Fokis (Fokeezy). We …

SXSW 2011 Wrap Up | Unique Squared Mobile Studio

With all of our gear packed up, screws and bolts tightened, and a full tank of gas (and some refilling along the way), the Unique Squared Mobile Studio team headed out to SXSW 2011 ready to have a blast. From official showcases to barbecues and non-stop recording sessions, the time we spent in Austin, TX for this years’ South By Southwest festivities were awesome.

We had everyone from Skewby to Skyzoo and J. Nics to Nick Javas come through and drop some gems for us. The days and nights proved to be long and fruitful as word started to spread about the ‘recording studio that’s a bus’.

With so many artists steadily hearing about the bus, we had to throw things into full gear and run a beat-listening, syllable-writing, rhyme-spitting factory. In the end, it did make for some great music and footage.

In between recordings sessions and dj sets, …
