Following up last week’s massively well-received release, The Quality Control x Unique Squared Official SXSW Mixtape has some more in store for all the Hip hop aficionados. When you get Hip hop’s last action hero, El Da Sensei to combine once again with his partner in crime, the syllable strangler Tame One – you get an atom bomb known as Artifacts. The Artifacts were one of the true highlights of The Official SXSW Showcase at this years’ South by Southwest Festival and are now one of the highlights of the mixtape as well with their song, ‘Turn It Out’. CONGRATULATIONS TO DUKES GO UP!!
On behalf of Coalmine Records & UniqueSquared.com, we are pleased to announce Dukes Go Up (reppin PA) as the official winner of the Can You Dig It? Remix Contest. The judging panel consisted of El Da Sensei, The Returners, Bekay, and representatives from Unique Squared. Out of countless submissions in a contest that yielded over 500 DOWNLOADS, it was Dukes Go UP sample chop, use of neck snapping drums and incredible attention to detail that put his remix over the top for him to be crowned the winner. In anticipation for the upcoming Beats & Lyrics 2 Go Mixtape release, we are sharing two tracks. The first track, “The Maschines”, is one of the two featured tracks on the Unique Squared A3C Recap video and the second is a brand new track being released today called “Big Deal”. The recap video also features a song by 4IZE called “Starstruck” produced by Tall Black Guy Productions, the winner of the custom Maschine we gave to Kevin Nottingham for the Beat Competition he hosted.
“The Maschines” by Senor Kaos, Homeboy Sandman & Buff1, produced by D.R.U.G.S. was recorded live at the A3C in the Unique Squared Mobile Studio. All of the beats use to produce this track, and the rest of the Mixtape, were submitted prior to the event. The actual vocal recording was done in an RV decked out with Auralex, AVID, Focusrite, and JBL…
