Edit Filter. The highly ergonomic floating tool HUD can be accessed easily and logically by pressing T, or simply clicking the middle mouse button anywhere on SONAR X1's interface. Using the Smart Tool in conjunction with the Edit Filter you can cut, paste, split, crop, fade, time-stretch, edit automation curves, and work with AudioSnap transients - all with a single tool. The Edit Filter allows you to see and work on only the data you want, and none of the data you don't. It retains its setting on a per-track basis so, for example, you can move seamlessly between working with AudioSnap on one track, volume automation on another track and in-line MIDI data on yet another track.

Tool Sets. Perhaps best of all, the new tool set works across all of SONAR's views. Whether you're working on arranging in the Track View or editing MIDI data in the Piano Roll View, the same tool will work smoothly and consistently with no interruption to your creative flow.
