Description

The Axiom 49 from M-Audio is a compact, 49-key controller for use with your music software and MIDI gear. In addition to being a comprehensive "data entry" controller, the keyboard features piano-style, semi-weighted keys for a musically satisfying playing experience.

Large dynamic trigger pads make it easy to program beats and trigger one-shot samples, while encoder knobs and buttons deliver complete real-time control over your software. DirectLink mode provides easy access to common DAW functions, including transport, mixer, track pan, and virtual instrument parameters, with no complicated setup required.

Each controller can be mapped to just about any MIDI message available, along with independent channel addressing for each, allowing endless possibilities for control. And with the new Instrument mode, a single button press instantly maps the faders, buttons, and encoders to any virtual instrument inside your DirectLink-compatible host.

The keyboard also features a sleek, angled top panel for easy viewing in any environment, providing all the right information and controls at your fingertips, whether you're on stage or in the studio. The backlit LCD screen provides informative feedback from DAW hosts, including on-screen display of parameters, settings, and track/VI names. The Axiom 49 is extremely compact and lightweight and is powered directly from your computer's USB bus.

  1. My personal feelings on my Axiom Review by Nathan
    Rating

Alright, ive had this model for around 5-6 months now and this is how i feel about them.

They improve workflow going from a standard keyboard and mouse like you wont believe. The way m audio packs alot of features into 1 strong product is amazing! I will list my feelings on all of the features.

Build Quality: Its plastic but its strong and has some weight to it so it doesnt feel like a "toy" where some midi controllers do.
Keys: they are semi weighted so they are good but not top notch, ive read some review about how they are an improvement from the previous model though.
    Faders: high resolution, easy mapping.
Encoder Knobs: once again very good job with the resolution, maps easily and feels good with rubber grips.
Drum Pads: Better then most drum pads, not alot of them and hard to map out in FL but they do work well with ableton and drum programs from NI like Battery and Abbey road drums.

So in all its a solid controller especially for the money! only complaint is that the keys aren't weighted but that's not much of a complaint for the price point! (Posted on 2/12/13)

Good keyboard! High-quality produced . But settings with Enigma is difficult. It is perfectly combined with Ableton. (Posted on 12/16/11)
