Review by BFUNKThere are some serious downsides to the original Fast Track interface. The new Mk II has phantom power, where this does not. The mic preamp can't be turned up too much, or you get alot of noise very quickly. So you're limited to dynamic mics at fairly low levels. The guitar input is even kinda noisy. If you're brand new to recording, get the Fast Track Mk II (also called Avid Recording Studio). It has the same cut-down Pro Tools software but much better hardware, adn it's worth the extra cost. This I cannot recommend at all.
