  1. Good for small ensemble live sound Review by BurritoMaster

This is a pretty cool little live mixer if you're doing a mostly acoustic group or singing with backing tracks. Let me hit the low-points first:

    * does not power passive speakers
    * does not act as a DI for outputs on acoustic guitars - weak signal that breaks up and sounds fuzzy
    * turning up the trim beyond 50% makes for a lot of noise

And that's pretty much it. That last one can be a problem if you have someone who's shy of the mic but otherwise it's OK.

The pros are the EQ knobs, which I use to roll off every mic. The rolloff point is high enough that it doesn't sound too thin. The inputs are solid, the mixer itself is pretty solid, and it packs a bunch of ins and outs in a tiny box. It's not even a square foot in area, and it's not very tall. It'd be nice if it had a separate 3-4 bus output, or hardware inserts, but this is a $100 mixer, so get over it. If not for the noise caused by higher trim levels, it'd be a 5-star buy. As it stands, it's definitely good enough if you're just getting started. (Posted on 4/15/12)
