Not heavy duty... but it'll do on a budget. Review by Carl Pandatankenson

I like the Saffire series of interfaces. While this is certainly the budget model and not the powerhouse some of it's big brothers are.... at the price it is a solid little unit. I wouldn't necessarily handle mixing for a record I spent money processing every other part of, but for the hobbyist, home recordist, software recording junkie looking for a low cost upgrade to their sound, this is a great card. Catpants, or whatever his name is, was a little hard on the other reviewer, who may have had legitimate problems with windows 7 (imagine that), but as a Mac user, I have had a great experience with this card, which I bought for what is basically my game mac. I've also used it with Ableton on the road a few times and it sounds just fine. It is what it is... at the price point it's hard to beat. (Posted on 3/21/13)
A Great Interface at a Low Price Review by Mr. Catpants

Naturally, this isn't going to compete with super expensive converters, but getting Focusrite Pres, a low noise unit and all in half a rack of space at this price is a pretty great deal. i got mine because I needed something I could use when I was visiting my girlfriend and this has been the perfect solution- though it would be perfect for anyone routing signals into their DAW from a mixer, or a budding producer just looking to have a bit better sound for their plugins and the option to route audio in to the computer.
Don't listen to the haters, Focusrite makes solid gear- they probably just don't know how to use the internet to download updates and drivers... because... apparently, there's a lot of people out there who can't read... (Posted on 3/17/13)
Hard time with Win7 Review by Johnny5
Rating
I bought this to go with my Win7 laptop. It had a hard time - it would install the drivers, but it would not show up in the sound outputs and the ASIO driver couldn't see anything. I got it to work exactly once, adn then never again. But if I plugged it into my old Power PC G4 PowerMac, and installed the driver, it works GREAT with Logic 7.1. It's just a driver issue on Windows. Works great on the mac though. Sounds good, but I couldn't keep it because of the Windows problem. (Posted on 8/11/11)
