- Great Multi-FX Review by Guilherme
The Amp simulations are great, the best you can get without buying an Axe-FX or a Kempler, that would be $2000 or more, so for it's price it's a great gear.
In my opinion the Amp simulations are even better than the Boss GT-100, the FX are really great too, but Boss would usually have better FXs. Pitch shifter and fuzz is not very good with the HD500, but Tube screamer, reverb and delays are great.
For some reason when i try to use my pedals with the FX Loop they won't sound good, specially fuzz and drives, I'll have to use with the normal guitar input. Also, If you don't own one of the Line 6 DT amps, the HD500 simulations may not sound so good depending on your amp (even at the amp FX loop return with cab sim disable).
Even with these cons i would really recommend the hd500, you probably even want to use it without amp, direct to PA for live concert or with headphones for recording.
I also use the Variax JTV-59 and the DT-25, this setup is awesome, it's the line 6 dream rig. (Posted on 4/8/2013)
