- Not great. Review by Ben
1.) To get audio to play smoothly without pops and clicks, you need it on very high latency settings. This is with a Core i5 2500K and Win7 x64. Maybe it's better on the Mac. For Pro Tools 10 you need the very highest settings or nothing plays at all. For other software, you're still using a 512 sample latency. My M-Audio Fast Track Pro runs at 128 samples of latency, so it's not the PC.
2.) There's a low rumble present all the time at around -70db, even with no microphone plugged in. This can really ruin recordings.
3.) As you click your mouse or scroll along the timeline of your DAW, you'll hear a low-frequency thump. This even happens if you're not using an audio app. Scrolling in Google Chrome sounds like a zipper in my monitors.
I really truly hate this thing. Studio One Artist is the one saving grace, as it's easy to use. Even then, no 3rd-party plugin support, but the upgrade to Pro with more content and ReWire is $100 well-spent. I like S1 and I love my 44VSL which is why I got the AudioBox as a second interface.
